Lock It Watch out behind you there's a monster in the closet Chicago, 1989
Lucifer had watched sixty-nine years come and go since the Accords were agreed upon. Most of those years were spent in a boring array of monotony in which he had picked out select women as his personal incubator in search for a perfect heir. Now he had his loophole in play. He was of course bored out of his mind, but his pride wouldn't allow him to be the one to break the Accord first. At least not directly and not yet. Currently, he was behaving himself in a nice penthouse with a nice suit enjoying the havoc his precious daughter was beginning wreak in his name. He was enjoying every minute of that.
The Accords had perhaps been the very bane of his existence. That being said, he agreed only because of this very reason. He was left to do his own thing for the better part of the century. It was quite peaceful, and he was still raining his Sin down on the humans without even lifting a finger. It was this reprieve that allowed him to unleash his secret weapon and soon as the time was right, he would join his daughter. He just needed to stay patient for a little longer.
With an heir of decorum he made his way out to his balcony to look out over the Chicago streets from his penthouse. The fingers of one hand wrapped around his wine glass while the other hand gripped the cold railing as he looked down at the humans with a twisted amusement. From his vantage point they truly did look like nothing more than putrid pests. Still, there wasn't just humans walking out there. And somewhere was his treacherous son.
No, Luc hadn't agreed to the Accords to appease the angels. He had agreed because the appeasement in any true demon's eyes would be deemed as a sign of weakness. His daughter might be out there spreading their Sin, but Luc didn't keep it a secret that he was laying off on the fun. No, he slipped a few words here and there to random demons. Starting the rumor that the Lord of Pride may have reached his prime and relinquished his throne at the request of angels. Somewhere out there it would reach the son he wished never existed. The boy tried and failed to kill him once and Luc thought him dead, but the rumors told Lucifer otherwise. If the boy was alive, he'd take another stab at the father who left him for dead. And Luc planned on finishing him when he failed to do so once before.

I see trees of green, red roses to. I seem them bloom, for me and you And I say to myself, what a wonderful world. What A Wonderful World -- Dragon Age [x]
He had other concerns, the world was spinning, mounting as if to tilt off its axis. The talks between George Bush and Mikhail Gorbachev had been at a stand still, the potential summit was their last attempt at peace. It was really the one thing consuming all of his time these days. That and Russia pulling out of Afghanistan, the conflicts in South Africa, the protests in China. All of it was rattling around his brain.
That they had all been so focused that the Demon Lords had been the problem with this world. Getting rid of them hadn't solved anything, killing the demons didn't solve anything. He'd left the office, finishing the conversation he'd been having with the President offering a friendly bit of advice. The entire world was hinging on this, the idea that perhaps their administrations could have found some beneficial compromise.
The fact that he was standing here taking a bite out the sandwich, the taste of pickled chili's overwhelming the sausage. The Albatross was only getting bigger and now he was going to bury his frustrations into the sandwich. Just for a few seconds, he had to take a few seconds for himself now and again. Otherwise more of his hair was going to turn white. It was already white around his temples, even some of the mustache had found the same affliction. The dark brown hair kept slicked back only to really try to hide the fact his hair had been fading over the years While he'd been trying to take a break from the turmoil, the sandwich half finished with the bottle of coke still in his metal hand.
And now to address the elephant in the room, he had sworn to several angels after the news that had reached him about Lucifer had been largely exaggerated. The world outside had been proof of that. It would be a cold day in hell before Lucifer ever stepped down from anything. They were alike in that respect really. t slicked back only to really try to hide the fact his hair had been fading over the years.
While he'd been trying to take a break from the turmoil, the sandwich half finished with the bottle of coke still in his metal hand. Maybe he should have taken a vacation though now really wasn't the appropriate time. No he was here in this city for a reason. A little 'check up' mandatory in Michael's opinion ever since Lucifer's daughter had shown up around these parts.
In part Michael wasn't surprised. He was headed for the penthouse now, though not for the entrance to the building this was going to take on a more direct approach. No the roof was going to have to do. He would land, the heels of his tapered boots hitting the stone of the apartment complex. It had taken quite some intel to figure out where Lucifer had holed himself now. It had been a long time since Michael had honestly been this furious, well not so much furious.
When he had landed of course the welcoming committee had been less than accepting of his arrival and heading to the door that had lead from the roof to the stairs. He had never been one for simply just walking into a place now had he? Well one thing was for certain, Lucifer was going to have more to worry about than trying to lure out his son.

Lock It Watch out behind you there's a monster in the closet Luc stiffened as he heard something from the roof. His eyes darkened with suspicion as he walked back into his penthouse and made a beeline for two of his minions. He kept them around mostly for show as his main security team, but he did love to boss people around. It was a favorite pastime of his really. Besides, if it was someone with murder on their mind, Lucifer would like to see what said person was packing and how deadly said person believed himself to be.
“The roof,” he barked. “Check it out. Any trespasser, bring them to me alive.”
He turned his back to them and left them to do as told as he returned to his balcony. Instead of walking back outside, he simply closed the sliding doors and gone to wait in his office. Just like Luc, the room was meticulous. The desk was perfectly organized with everything he needed on a daily basis. There was an expensive table lamp, a pencil and pen holder, a stack of papers, a stack of notepads, a stapler, a phone, and a pencil sharpener. There was also a decently sized on the side. He unlocked, and opened it, but paid no mind to the contents as he focused on the mirror on the roof of the lid.
As the Lord of Pride, Lucifer had no room to look like trash in any given moment. Everything from his residencies to himself had to be absolutely perfect. After all, he was the best of the best and had a strict image to uphold. He used the mirror to fix himself up properly before closing the chest and returning it to the hiding spot behind a hidden safe in his bookshelf. He straightened the sleeves of his suit jacket one final time before sitting behind his desk for the uninvited guest's arrival. Depending on who it was, they wouldn't leave alive.

I see trees of green, red roses to. I seem them bloom, for me and you And I say to myself, what a wonderful world. What A Wonderful World -- Dragon Age[x]
Life for the Archangel was like a storm, and he was constantly at its eye. The chaos that came from his own hand was only inevitable when the winds brought these two together. This time would be no different. The tall beanstalk of a man already striding over to the rood storm door, and with a roll of his wrist the blade attached at his arm flicked out like a butterfly knife as he clicked it the rest of the way into place. He had already moved to pry open the bolt but was met with, as expected security.
The only thing that had really changed was that instead of carrying blades, as they had all those years ago they now carried guns. The devastating things though at close range like this, he was glad he'd been the one to bring a knife to a gun fight. The bullets from the first guard never became an actuality. Met at the door by the Archangel his fist already launching for the mans face as an instant reaction. His divine weapon was the strangest of all, the silver metal hand making up most of his right arm. The crunch of the man's jaw as he staggered back on the stairs before a second made his way forward.
The second had the time to aim, the shot ringing out in the stairwell before they to would become another casualty at the angels hand. A blade swinging out like a butterfly knife clicking into place before he again made his move. Lucifer was right about someone not being left alive, and well unfortunately it wasn't going to be Michael. The silence from the stairwell followed by the footsteps as Michael dug in his pockets for the cloth. It was a bit rude to offer a hand to shake when it clearly had blood on it after all. And even then in the angel's mind he had gone for the non-violent approach.
That was one of the things they seemed to have in common, the methodical neatness, as Michael finally pushed open the door exiting the stairwell before pushing the bloodied cloth back into the pocket of his trousers. He'd thought of just dropping on the balcony but really coming in so unannounced was a bit rude even for his standards.
"You know if you sent someone now that second fellow might make a full recovery." The voice from the hall, the angel getting closer to his target. A joke about needing to make an appointment he thought might lighten the mood a little but he kept it to himself after all there were other things, pressing matters to be worried about. Matters of importance that were enough to make him fly out from D.C. in the midst of planning for a summit of peace, to Chicago. New developments on the side of the Russians, a bizarre bit of information.
Finally the doors had opened, and stepping into the office was Michael lowering his hands letting the doors close behind him.
"Mr. Anazkolasi...how have things been, you know...since last I heard we had a little agreement going." he gestured sliding a hand into the pocket as the stirring outside of staff like moths rushing to a flame.
"I don't want to take up any more of your time, I would have called ahead, but time crunch I'm sure you'd understand," he paused moving further into the room standing in front of the desk. Of all the risky things Michael could have done today, this had to make the top ten list.
"Because my friend, Mr. President Bush, has some concerns I'd like to address before we get the ball rolling, and funnily enough most of them involved you." He had moved his arm to inspect the metal of his arm pausing to again wipe his hand with the cloth in his pocket. At least as far as Michael could tell most of them involved Lucifer directly, unaware that perhaps another player had indeed entered the scene.
