MAGIK:
The mental manipulation of greed, a gift of her father's she uses to get people to help her in her more complicated ventures. She gained from her mother, the ability to manipulate the wind under her wings. If there was something she was good at it was being fast. She was a speedy one that Tavi, graceful in the sky or off the ground. A deadly combination for someone with sticky fingers to have wind in her sails after all.
DIVINE WEAPON: N/A
PHYSICAL AILMENTS: Nothing other than a few scars, when you get into sword fights it can't really be helped.
WEAKNESSES: Compulsive gambling she'd never say no to a bet. Even if the stakes are dire. It's not in her blood to say no. She is sometimes too rigid or demanding of others and this places unnecessary stress on herself when others fail her and she has to take up their slack.
STRENGTHS:
A well learned woman, holding a position of some repute within the archaeological and anthropology community. After spending several centuries with humans it was only natural that her cover involve studying them. Even if there wasn't much to study. Humans rarely peak her interest, preferring the company of really anything else. As she spent much time on the high seas, traveling is no mystery to her. Her navigational, and survival skills are quite essential to her line of work as both a thief and somewhat of an explorer. As for combat she is very familiar, and misses the elegance of sword play against that of a quick and dirty gun.
PERSONALITY:
Octavia is all the things her father never really had the taste for, she took after her mother in those regards. Outwardly as a child she seemed to be more like her father, with a love of books and academia. She was a sigh, quiet girl when her life began however after some time she began to shine. Though even now after all these years her love for books has never really seemed to dissipate, and often times will get in arguments with her father involving dates and events in history. When under her employment she can be seen as outwardly very aggressive. There's only one way to do the job and that's her way, and those who disagree often find themselves on the bad end of her temper. She seems to be less hospitable than her father, though she has less of her brother's 'paranoia' about certain things. She highly values freedom and doesn't like to be held to certain obligations.
FATHER: Carter Halifax
MOTHER: An unnecessary relationship.
SIBLINGS: A younger brother named Olivier
SPOUSE(S): A few flings but nothing ever lasting.
OFFSPRING: None to speak of.
OTHERS: None
It wasn't hard to manipulate anyone here, they were all after the same thing in the end. Treasure, the feeling of the wind and most importantly freedom. They had all they could have wanted, a strange world for those afflicted by greed. It seemed that without the pressure of her father's great cycle of consumerism these people would be content.
As a pirate Octavia was ruthless within reason. There would be no man, woman or child who could think themselves above her rules and still stay aboard her ship. She may have been slightly tyrannical but even then the crew was happy. They would sail through the seas, spending most of their time until the end of the age around the coast of India. It wasn't until the end of the age of piracy that they began to feel the pressure. The bounty upon their Demon Captain was high, and their kin were becoming a dying breed. There was little room for them as the edges of the map would begin to become clear.

HISTORY:
Her father had long since taken up root with the Anglo-Saxons and their monarchy's living a life of prosperity while avoiding the black plague altogether. He wasn't about to get mixed up in that nonsense after all. He had made his mark in society as the architect of one particular vestment. The crown jewels of the early 15th century. A life in England was not a hard one, especially with her father more concerned in matters of business and his small ventures dabbling in the worlds trade. From silks to writing and navigation, art and music her education advanced for any woman of the era. Neither she nor her father ever really fell into the traps of those ideals. As a result the daughter of Mammon was something of a fright to most suitors of the era.
Her mother seemed disappointed by her daughter's lack of interest in the high court despite being a demon herself. She began to worry about Octavia's place in the world as a successor to the Lord of Greed. If she wasn't willing to get closer to the humans then nothing would become of this empire. Carter however was self-assured that his daughter would turn out fine in the end whether or not she 'settled down'. In the summer of her 27th birthday Octavia made a startling decision. Spending much time with Jean Ango had taught her many things about the world. A world she clearly since an early age had wanted in her clutches. A son who has taken over his father's trade business heading along the spice route to India.
It was then that she had first encountered this cultural change, a region whose climate was not the wet and tepid air of Europe. And unlike her father she did not mind the strangeness, the still 'uncivilized' behavior of these 'Indians'. Their art was fascinating, as were their spices and even their strange gods, not depicted with wings like most had been but with the heads of elephants and many arms. Though the thing that was the most fascinating to her was the idea that rulers, thousands of miles away could still hold any sway over their people. And that even after she had traveled with these men to distant lands for rumors of gold
THE SILVER SERPENT
The name of the damned ship was 'The Silver Serpent' and no man would be at the helm of this vessel. It's white figure head on the prow giving the ship her namesake, in part with Octavia's on moniker. Things were never better, the drink was good and the crew, the finest assembly of men and women she could have found. And for a time they traveled the sea, the legends of the Serpent spreading across the lands. A Pirate who had been on the seas longer than any sailor. She would become connected then to the legend of Ouroboros, the serpent who ate it's tail to keep itself alive forever. Many a crew came and went, and well into the 16th century she was among those who had found their fortune in the Caribbean.

A CHANGE IN THE WIND
Though Octavia wasn't one to let go of her free lifestyle. The New World was still a free one in her eyes and there was an opportunity for one last hurrah there. Opening a trading company, with the help of her crew she handed over her ship to those who wished to remain tied to the sea. The kindest act she herself would ever be apart of in the end. By now the original crew had long since gone, three generations of human life had passed across this deck and it was such a strange feeling. As if she had formed some sort of bond with these humans, the idea of which was laughable. But they had worked tirelessly for their freedom, and it was going to be a debt that she would have to repay. Another weakness of her father's that soft heart of his had snaked its way into her chest.
She started the trade company in what was once called 'East Florida' with what remained of their crew passing off the figure head of her ship simply as decoration dug up from the harbor bay. It was a passable lie as they say. From here she secured the freedom of her crew, trading with the old world of Europe and finally attracting her father's true approval. Though never enough for him to honestly be with her. He could either care for his experiment or raise his daughter and he had chosen the former. Although she resented this decision now, in the end when their future was paved in gold, stock bonds and credit she really couldn't say she hated him for it.
The trade company also operated on another front besides spices and textiles. She was after something much more precious, and so were those who worked under her. There was treasure in these lands, treasures lost to be found once again by their exploits. Although some left to become mercenaries many participated in these hunts, staying with the company and eventually dabbling in the most lucrative of trades. Slaves. Something her father's squeamish heart could have never gotten into. Octavia on the other hand did not mind the idea, if these people were not strong enough to fight and die for their freedom then she would happily take what they did not deserve.

GOLDEN AGE OF GREED
Her life today is vastly different than the career of a pirate she had once had. From sailing the high seas to wandering the globe she's always had the same goal in mind. To inspire men on foolish ventures. After her father's agreement with the angels to sleep in the Wall-Street bull Octavia took over his warehouse business from the shadows, making sure that the plan he had detailed out to her ran smoothly, although the unforeseen depression was a consequence of Octavia trying her hand in moderation. Though no one seems to attribute an entire ten years of depression in the economy and a World War with Octavia, oh no it would end up being her slumbering father's fault and consequently the most demonic thing he'd ever done.
Their relationship had repaired with time, the father daughter duo of which anyone would be proud. Where her father lacked in cold hearted manners she made up for it in kind. The treasure hunting business taking her all over the world, and through the years lining her pockets for more grand adventures. From raiding the tombs of Egypt to the mines of Africa and ruins of South America. Even the cold of Russia and the treasure of the Nazi's were not beyond her grasp.
However taking care of her father's empire was not an easy task, the rocky road to his return was exactly that, and all the billionaire's in the world couldn't have seen it coming. After he had fully returned however, she backed down in some respects, going back to doing what she loved. She went back to the past, to sailing and pursuing a degree in archaeology but most of all she did what she did best. She inspired, and in a way drove people mad with thoughts of lost treasures and ancient artifacts. Contributions to museums were easy, it was all just old junk to her in the end.
Currently, she holds a teaching post in Australia at a University balancing her time between adventure and academia teaching archaeology and rearing another age of unethical practices.
