Since Leo had given him the earth shattering news, Remy had done nothing but avoid other Angels and Demons, blending in with the humans and even booking a flight with a group of spring breakers to Europe. He didn't know where he was going, nor did he care. He just needed time to be with his thoughts, to sort through the chaos that had erupted into his head. While he loved the idea of the third seat of the silver cross being filled by none other than a prophetess, he hated the idea they immediately jumped to him as the one to fulfill the stupid prophecy. Just because he was known as the Angel of Hope, didn't make him the damn angel of hope who would be the decider of the war! As the taxi pulled up to the curb, Remy counted out several pounds before stepping from the taxi and onto the crowded street. He only briefly knew that he was in London but the actual specifics were unknown. Perfect. A small smile tugged at the corners of his mouth at the thought. No one to bother him.
The taxi pulled away, leaving him to wonder about his next adventure. London had surely changed since he'd been here. Hell, he was sure all of Europe had changed. The last time he'd sent foot in London, there had been knights riding around in armor. No lie. With a shrug of his shoulders, he headed down the street, immediately blending in with the crowd.
How was he supposed to be the decider of the victor of the war? How could he be expected to side with a group over the others? He'd never truly been accepted by the Angels, wanted dead by demons and the humans he'd fought to protect. There was no deciding here. Frustration ate away at him and, as he turned a corner, came face to face with a familiar sensation that had him stopping his tracks. An Arch Angel? Here? He supposed it wasn't a surprise. After all, they could go where ever they wanted. Hoping it wasn't Raphael who would make him work instead of moping around, he followed his second sense to find himself standing at the end of the line of a soup kitchen. He smiled. Gabe.
As the line slowly thinned out and Remy found himself at the front of the line, he couldn't help but smile even more when he saw Gabe himself handing out the plates of food. Go figure. He took his place in front of him and held out his hands, a playful smirk on his face. "Please, sir, I'd like some more." Quoting the famous, Oliver Twist.

Ever since his latest tour for the United States Army had ended, Gabe had found himself helping people more often than not. Even when he was supposed to be taking a vacation he still found himself drawn towards a soup kitchen to help the people in need. It was of no surprise to him‒ever since the Demi God wiggled its way into his body things like this relaxed him more than anything else. He had been handing out food for what seemed like mere minutes but in reality was a few hours. The smile never dimmed from his face because each and every smile or thank you was enough to make everything he did worth it. He had felt the presence of Arch while he worked but did nothing about it. He wasn’t particularly drawn towards the rest of his brethren enough to stop helping humanity. If they wanted to find him they would.
And that is exactly what happened. Gabriel continued to hand plates of food out but suddenly stopped when an Oliver Twist quote reached his ears. He looked up and grinned at the youngest looking member of the Arch Angels and a smile crossed his face in seconds. “Well, well, well. Look what the cat dragged in. Long time, no see!” he said happily before he passed the plate in his hand over to the person standing next to him. It the Angel in front of him had been Raphael or even Saraquel he would have simply said he would talk to them later but this was Remy and therefore was a horse of a different color. He asked for a pardon and with a nod was excused. He moved around the table and ruffled Remy’s hair playfully, “What’s up, my friend? Keeping busy lately?” he asked as he casually lead the way to an uninhabited table. While he had Remiel here he might as well see what the Angel of Patience had been doing since he had last heard from him. Since they both chose to avoid the other Arch's when they could it wasn't very often he saw him after all.

He frowned when Gabriel ruffled his hair like a common child. Still? After all these years? He glared at Gabe's back as he walked towards a nearby table and he urged himself to move after him. He wouldn't let his impatience get to him. He took a deep breath to calm down. It was a cruel joke that Mayaria had made him look like a child. Terribly cruel. What had she gained from it? He supposed only entertainment as his own brothers and sisters- the same age as himself- treated him like a younger sibling. But, thanks to the Demi God inside him, he'd learned to harbor a great amount of patience and learned to deal, even if he still felt a slight pang of irritation.
He followed Gabe to the table and slid into the seat, resting his elbows on the table as he gazed around at the homeless as they shuffled from the serving table to their seats. Most of them were veterans of past wars, clearly neglected and forgotten even after all the suffering they'd been through for others. With a start, Remy realized it sounded a lot like himself and his brethren. The things they'd done for the human race and, as years passed, they were forgotten, turned into legend rather than fact.
He took in a breath as he finally turned and faced Gabe, throwing a crooked smile onto his face. "I've been alright, I guess. I'm currently trying to run away from Leo but, I guess, it was a really stupid idea. He can get a hold of us whenever he wants, can't he?" It was hard to believe that an angel like that had ever spawned from Michael. There was something about Leo that sent shivers up Remy's spine. The two had never gotten along and Remy liked to keep it that way. He didn't trust the first seat of the Silver Cross and he didn't understand why the others did. "I don't think I need to ask what you've been up to." he said rather cheekily, indicating the soup kitchen around them. "Seems kind of obvious at this point."

“I think all of us try to run from Leo… Being the son of Michael gave him some holier than thou comple over the rest of us, even the Archs. I don’t even think his own father is a fan.” He chuckled, “But hey, if you find a way to avoid him completely could you share the secret? I’d miss sparing with Quinn but at least I wouldn’t have to put up with that pompous asshole.” He was mostly joking but also really serious. He hated Leo. Gabriel could crush the Silver Cross’s First Chair with little effort thanks to all his training but lucky for Michael’s son he was too nice of a guy to show Leo exactly how much they all hated him. He tapped his fingers across the table slowly.
“As for what I have been up to, no you probably don’t need to ask. When I am not helping someone I am fighting with the American Armed Forces, making sure those soldiers get back to their families alive.” He flashed a small smile. He wasn’t filled with pride over what he had done but he still felt good for helping the people that needed his help. “Technically speaking, I am on vacation right now. But you know I can’t stay away.” He grinned, “Though I suppose the real reason I decided on England was because it’s about time that I go check on Carter. Have to check on Greed every once in a while.” He looked around and saw the line for food was practically nonexistent, he could leave now if he wanted. He would likely be back in tomorrow any way. “What are you doing now? I might go find him now. He’s not at all threatening though so it won’t involve a fight.” He asked casually.

"Some vacation." Remy said, looking back the line offering food. He didn't feel pity for Gabe. In fact, he agreed with what he was doing but he just couldn't see himself doing the same thing. He guessed that was what set them apart from each other. Gabe was charitable and he was patient. He almost snorted at the thought. Patience really didn't get anyone anywhere. It had earned him the title of the Angel of Hope and look where that had landed him; with some ridiculous prophecy hanging over his head.
"Carter?" he echoed. "The Demon Lord of Greed?" That came as a surprise! The last time they'd had any contact with the demon lords, let alone, their opposites, had been the accords and even then, Remy had barely escaped with his wings attached. He had been surprised Sathanus had even agreed to the accords with the way he'd reacted towards him. He shuddered. Meeting Sathanus again would be far too soon. But, it seemed like Gabe was on a page with Carter, whereas he and Wrath were in two different libraries. He seemed reluctant to go but Gabe seemed comfortable. "You've been meeting with Carter?" He asked. Well, at least, this gave him a reason to keep his secret a little longer.

“It is a wonderful vacation, thank you very much. And you being here, even for a little while, will give these people a little more patience and hope for their future.” He smiled at the thought. He looked around some more, content with how many people had sought help and received it with no expectations in return. The people that helped these people on a daily basis were heroes in his mind, and though all of these veterans‒some he had probably even fought beside‒deserved so much more he was at the very least okay that there were still people in this world that wanted to help them. Even without his push.
“Yes, the Demon Lord of Greed. We came to an agreement and he isn’t cooped up away from humanity any more. Other than the spread of Greed he is actually the most harmless of the Lords. My job is honestly easy compared to what you and Raguel have to put up with. At least my opposite doesn’t like fighting.” He stood up then, “I just have to collect a check for another charity and make sure he’s not wreaking too much havoc and we can go. If you want to join you can, or you can go be a college kid in England, your call. Just, uh… Don’t tell the other Angels about it.” He started to walk out, leaving Remy with a choice to make as he was heading to Carter’s loft.

Carter Halifax
There's a maniac out in front of me. Got an angel on my shoulder, and Mestopheles. He shoved the spoon into his mouth, looking over at the phone sliding through the e-mails. The mundane life of one thousand year old demon was no laughing matter despite the triviality of how it began. Though this was no ordinary day, no this was the day Carter loathed more than any other day. It took quite a bit of mental preparation to even get him out of bed. The whole process he imagined was like getting a shot. It was quick, relatively painless and only had a slight chance of giving him a rash. He began to type on his phone, answering back an employee on the subject of a recently acquired Patek Philippe. Not that any one would have understood his unwavering joy over the subject, but 800,000 dollar platinum watches with perpetual calendar chronograph wristwatch, one of the first mind you but this was an entirely separate matter for another day.
No there was a more pressing matter, the kind that made him take an anti acid, watching it fizzle in the water more for the sake of ritual than anything. He had seen the humans do it and well, anything was worth a try when you were a demon going to meet an angel. If anyone else found about their transactions then he would be ruined.
Their arrangement was a simple one, though things had become more complicated as the years had gone on. A simple check here, another donation there and now here he was. Carter didn't just have to pay the angel, he thought it was a was a one time deal back when he had written the first check. But it had become more than that. It had become almost a sort of blackmail. A 25,000 dollar write off for his own safety. As a man who had never once picked up a blade in his entire life, this was insurance that he would be left alone. But then the angel had shown up, unannounced to collect another...that was when things had gotten out of hand.
The flat in England was one of his 'safest' places besides the waterfront Wisteria warehouse. Which he would have preferred to meet there, but no...one little prod of a blade and he crumbled like the tower of Babel. He picked up the ocelot carrying it gently into the office. Gabriel would be here soon and quite frankly he didn't like to give angels anything else that would be worth threatening, despite not even looking like the 'demon lord' that he was. The man standing in the office eyes obscured behind thick glasses, wearing dark jeans and the slightly rumpled shirt.
The flat itself was done in a grand sort of style, floating walls and dark wooden floors. Grand paintings and large shelves of books. This was what the world of money could afford him. The gentle sounds of the grandfather clock in the hall, the television set on the news playing from the living room. These were all just distractions as he sat in wait.
Just got to get this over, and then he could go about his day. Just sign his name on the check, send Gabriel out the door and all would be well.
Wouldn't it?

He only had moments to decide as Gabe stood and began to walk away. A moment of panic before he bolted after him. He was too curious to let this one go! If Gabe was confident he had his opposite in control then he definitely wanted to see this. "Don't worry. I don't really talk to the others. I'll keep it to myself." He considered his opposite, the Demon Lord of Wrath. He'd witnessed the man's ability to literally go into a rage on the turn of a dime and he'd barely escaped with his life. He supposed it would take great patience to find a way to co-exist with the Demon... Go figure. Thinking about it more, it was a simple agreement between charity and greed that allowed such an easy co-existence. Why couldn't the other pairings be the same? Easy, that is. And he was expected to find a solution to the war when only one pairing managed to find closure?
"Gabe, truth is." he said, catching up to the Arch Angel. "I am running away from Leo but... There's more to the story." he said slowly. "How- how did the two of you manage to, you know, agree?" He didn't believe the stupid prophecy but... Maybe there was something here.
